A practical V60 cup depends more on fresh beans and a steady ratio than on expensive gear.
What you need
V60 dripper and paper filter, grinder if possible, scale, kettle, and clean water just off the boil.
Starting ratio
Start around 1:15–1:16 (e.g. 15 g coffee to 225–240 ml water). Adjust to taste.
Steps
Rinse the filter. Bloom with about twice the coffee weight in water for 30–45 seconds. Pour in gentle circles. Typical total time is about 2.5–3.5 minutes. If it is harsh, grind coarser; if weak and sour, grind finer.
With seren coffee
Use whole beans and grind before brewing. Current lots change — see Origins.
